Gorgeous, sounds like it would be fun to play too.

At around 9 minutes, you come very close to quoting Elgar's "March No. 1 in D", the "Land of Hope and Glory" section of the Trio - which is very familiar in the US as a high school graduation procession. There I was, setting anchor in some spectacular vista, and then - urgh...

Do you sail? I don't, really, but I vaguely remember a brief trip or two as a rather spare experience. There's a lot of energy in play, the boat hums and hisses as the sails drive it through the water, and of course waves, but it's steady, maybe hypnotic, mechanical. I found the pastoral quality of your piece more evocative of the places that one might come ashore, on a trip around the world. And of course more interesting than anything I can think of that would represent the stark experience of open water sailing, but then I'm not much of a composer myself.

Impressive! What was the ocean wavelike sound about 2/3 through? Wind machine, recording, or sound effects by the players?

By the players. Blowing into the brass instruments.

But in this recording I compressed the sound in that moment so it could be more audible. With that I ruined the recording at that moment. Sounds artifitial... Sorry about that...

Great piece of music Antero! I really love the richness of it. It reminds me of a piece called Oceanides by Sibelius.
