That is a very fine performance. The horn sounds terrific, and is just one more example of the really good instruments coming out of China. Thanks for posting

Glad to hear that. It will take some work but it is worth it. Not sure what kind of Ipod my daughter has, it might be the Ipod touch, but I do know that I spent a lot of money on it. The only thing I am not happy with is the audio as it dosn't pick up the sound or dynamics like my Sony mini disk does. Does anyone have any good thoughts on what to use for video with good sound capability without breaking the bank?

And his F isn't equipped with a Jones' Trigger, as seen on Mark Jones' recent posts! Mack and I hope to find a tech willing to assemble kits for installation by less imaginative, but competent, repair persons! These Tubas are the real deal, guys and gals! Check out the quality of sound, especially below the staff! I've played German axes that can't match that sound quality in the low range!

Not sure of the mouthpiece, as of right now they all feel the same. I will have to check but I know its one of the old Perantucci's (SP?) I was in a rush and had packed the car with the horn and asked my daughter to grab one off the chair in the basement, forgot there were about 8 of them sitting there.

I have a client in Australia requesting a Yamaha Dallenbach, per Mark Jones' advice!
The mouthpieces included with the "Chinese" Tubas are best used as paper weights, IMHO! To be fair, my Cerveney came with a "European" Paper Weight!

Get a USB powered condenser mic and use the video recorder on your computer with a webcam. They "flatness" you hear is the software "auto-leveling" the sound. It brings the peaks down and the low points up, so you can hear what's going on (more user friendly, but not an adequate representation of real life)

You were the American pioneer in the "Chinese" Tuba business! DP, I agree with you, though I think Mack's post wasn't solely intended to promote our JinBao F's, I will suggest to Neptune and Mack that any future threads promoting our product post to the sponsor's section. Any potential clients and other interested parties searching for such will be directed to our posts anyway!

Al you absolutly correct, the intention of this post was to show what the JinBao F tuba sounded like, I don't recall anywhere in my post or in the video where I was promoting, pedaling, or trying sell something as this was not the intention. I have not had a tuba to play for the last 8 months and I was just glad to get back on my horse. There has been a lot of talk about quality and reliability, to logos and who knows what else so I thought it would be a good idea to do this to show what this model really sounded like. If I am selling something, I will use the appropriate sections on this board to do so, but in this case, that is not the topic.

DP, you are soo very wrong, you will never see those kind of antics from me. One thing I do pride myself on is being honest and upfront with everyone. You can scrape for foul play all you want but I can tell you that your waisting your time, and you do have a lot of time on your hands.

I can say that Tom, from everything I have experienced during my purchase process (Compensating Euphonium), is as straight a shooter as you are likely to find. He answered every question I had up-front. He was honest, not prone to misrepresenting things. He gave me a great deal. He was willing to work in whatever way best fit my needs in terms of timing, shipping, and so forth. And when the horn arrived, being the first horn I've ever purchased and having not played for 25+ years, I had questions and concerns, and Tom was patient to address them all, even willing to pay to have the horn shipped back to him and for him to ship me another. I declined that offer, but the impression that it left on me is one that will not fade lightly from my memory. My children are (hopefully) going to be needing instruments in the not too distant future, and if Tom sells what they need I can tell you where I will be going first.
