Mark Heter and His Band Summer Concerts - NJ

Post by Uncle Markie »

We will be giving two free outdoor concerts this summer.
Dates: July 10 - Warren Park Woodbridge NJ 6:00 pm
July 17 - Spring Lake Park S. Plainfield NJ 6:30 pm
If you haven't seen/heard us, we are a small band with a big sound - piccolo, 2 clarinets, 3 cornets, 2 trombones, horn, euphonium, tuba and drums.
This year's program theme is "Thistle Rose and Shamrock" - Scottish, English and Irish music. I hope to prove you can do this type of program without Holst and Vaughan-Williams. In keeping with our theme, John Palatucci will be playing the Mantia "Endearing Young Charms". Our tuba player is Remoh Moseley, who plays his butt off. The rest of the band is staffed with NY-area players, formerly with Ringling, Broadway, and symphonies, etc. Bring a lawn chair - and some friends. We had to campaign to keep these things funded; Gov. Christie's budget cost the county $10 million this year, so we're fortunate to continue with these dates. Plus, you might run into Steve Dillon who catches our shows when he can. If you attend, please come up and say hello!
