Need help

Post by SouthsideBrass »

I have a 1977 Mirafone 186 CC 5 (sons horn) rotary horn and need a screw that holds the uniball section to the rotor. Section falls off while playing. All I see is the uni-ball section on all the sites not the screw for where the arm attaches to the rotor itself.

Thank in advance for the help....

Are you speaking of the white plastic ball ends? Is it the little plastic screw you are missing?

Dan,

I have taken a photo to show which one is missing.

Thanks,

Oh. You just need a stop arm screw. Those haven't changed in years and can be obtained from about any repairman for just a couple of bucks. I thought you might have been talking about some of the actual linkage parts.... which have been through multiple changes over the years.

That being said... the reason that screw is missing may be due to a stripped thread in the rotor stem. Take one of the other screws out and try it in the empty hole to make sure this isn't the case. If you don't have someone local who can get you a screw... send me an email with your address.

If the hole is stripped, there is still an easy fix.

Dan -

If you are interested, I have a neat fix for those white/gray Teflon linkages that like to split.
