The bore is 0.689" in the first three, I added a 0.734" for the 4th piston, a donor #1 from a Conn 14K cluster. The fifth rotor is a 0.750"from a Meinl Weston. So, their is a little Germania, in the fifth loop, I didn't have any outer brass tubing large enough, so I had to use the MW nickel-silver-#1 leg. The projects laundry list of things, The things I decided to do along the way grew quite lengthy. I've moved the main tuning slide from the leadpipe to after the rotor. Moved the #1 slide from below the piston cluster to the top. Added an additional slide to the top side of #3 and when I added the 4th loop, put slides on the top and bottom. The 55+" of the fourth loop was fun, I bent a tube around the valve cluster to create 4th loop, parallel to the #3 loop, it lined up quite well. New lead pipe of course, turned out a new receiver. Currently, I am finishing the final touches on the thumb linkage system. This has kept me awake many nights. The open bugle plays about 10 cents sharp, with all slides pushed in, the scale is sounding pretty good, I'm needing to verify and check my porting, the corks were in tough shape. But, I'm pretty optomistic about the outcome. Initial response has been encouraging. Now to try load some pics.
I am not looking forward to the cleaning and removal of all the tinning left behind, It seemed that "Time was of the Essence" while I was working on this project at school. Now I wish I had done a better job of clean-up as I went along.
