They told me carbon fiber with genuine brass stockings (like a real trombone) and yes, they do have other instruments in the works.
Do you know if it is in fact polycarbonate?

I've read that the slide inners are fiberglass, and also that they're carbon fiber.

I like that the 2 trombonists pictured on the info page are both bass players. Maybe... :D

Order today and receive a FREE shunt that lets you leave the slide home and use the horn as a vuvuzela at your favorite sports event.

At that price, I will strongly consider ordering one for my school next year. I think it would be a great item to give fourth graders who have trouble with the weight of the real thing.

cktuba wrote:$149??? :x  $79.00 in the UK... at that price I would be all over it. But for $149, one could probably pick up a beater brass trombone for marching band off of eBay....

Case in point...

Yeah but that's a left handed trombone. You'd certainly pay more for a traditional right handed model.

I'd say green, but I've read reports that some have had to choose between blue and red. In that case I would say red. Of course, you will probably want to make it your own with decorations of some sort.

I understand it comes with a plastic mouthpiece, but that you might do well to get a Kelly 12C or something anyway.

The best sound it will make is when it is thrown into a Dumpster and hits a Saxophone

Showed these to my supervisor. He might let me get one in September, to check out. If they're as good as they seem in the video, we may order a couple of them, to use with 4th and 5th grade students.
