Drum Machine as Metronome
Is anyone using a drum machince as a metronome. I'm thinking it might make practice a little more interesting. Any recommendations?

Can you program certain "beats"? If possible, program different rhythms you'd like. Some (I believe) can even program triplets in.
What kind of drum machine is it? I assume it's one where you can adjust the on/off of sixteenth notes?

edit-edit: Wow. The cheapest one on eBay is $49 (which has a bid, but also has an admitted issue). I didn't pay that much for mine.
My DR550 MKII is still going strong after nearly 20 years. It can definitely spice up a practice session, especially if you're working on something that needs a particular feel like rock, swing, latin or afro-cuban jazz. My students really enjoy it too, a lot more than the boring old metronome. (OK, the basic pre-programmed beats aren't great, but they are usable and if you're good with electronics they are easily manipulated.) And Bloke is right (as usual) an adaptor is a must.
