Do any of you Tubenetters wear these when playing or practicing?

Not yet. Will they make me a "world-class" tuba player?

You could pretty well fill up a "BS Bingo" card just from the item description!

Do the people who want organic laces and recycled soles also want leather uppers?

Oh, but those leather uppers are "eco-certified" (though I'm not sure in what sense they're "certifiable") -- that should be enough to make even the folks at PITA happy.

They also offer canvas uppers if you prefer the ultimate old fashioned tennis shoe. :)

Looks like they raided the local truck stop for the soles. They look like Firestone Transport 1's.

I find that my tone is more focused when I wear these shoes ...they also open up the low register in my 186 - others have also commented that I sound " fuller " ...personally , I think my upper register gets a bit " pinched off" ...but none of my conductors or those sitting around me have offered any negative comments. I think they are glad that I have any shoes on at all....
