Tangent:
Has anyone tried that Titanium Nitride coat for slide? Hcoat? Would these materials be suitable or even superior to chrome?

Doesn't Anderson do chrome? If not them, what about Allied/Getzen?

No, they farm it out. Chrome on bumpers is a fifteen to twenty second flash over twenty minutes of nickel. Bone slides need a bit more chrome and that can be a problem for some shops that are not set up for this type of structural plating. I have a local shop that can do the job but to be honest, because I have not been happy with any of the shops I have had do work for me on inside slide tubes, I prefer to strip the chrome and prep the tubes myself. I have the local boys do the nickel plate. I will then knock out a proper fitting arbor on my lathe and hone the nickel plated stockings straight, smooth and round. The results are quite satisfactory and a lot less costly.

Not for something like inside slide tubes. I like Dan's idea. I would like to see how those "feel."
