I was told by the seller that this is a Jinbao. I am thinking that this is a Miraphone 184 clone. Does anybody have any experience with this tuba?

Yes, it is JBCB-400. I would recommend that if you want this model to order from Big Bottom Music, or MACK music in the USA - you do not want risk from seller in China as no way of sorting if there should be problems.
However this model has a reputation for poor intonation, so best to avoid. Much better to get the superb 5-valve JinBao JBCB-410 based on the 186

Hi!
Don't buy this unless you get it cheap! I'll sell you a new one for $100.00 over my actual cost. But you can't send it back! They blow rather easily, but have intonation issues requiring a good ear and an agile left hand!

I personally never trust eBay listings that use a cut and paste image from the supplier catalogue instead of a photo of the item that you will get in the post.
Cant carry a tune but I can carry a tuba.

It means they either haven't actually got the item, or have never opened the box from the factory to ensure it in good working order. Either way, risky to buy particularly when it is being sold by someone unknown in Beijing!sousaphone68 wrote:I personally never trust eBay listings that use a cut and paste image from the supplier catalogue instead of a photo of the item that you will get in the post.

It is actually not that bad, but it is a challenge to play it in tune though. However, now when you guys have established a direct link to the maker why not take the opportunity to improve the model? The size is great and the basic sound is fine. So with a little tweaking it could be a great instrument. I beleive there is a market for a CC that size?!tubaforce wrote:Hi!
