I think I see the problem:

What did you do there? I tried a jpg and gif format, and it was not over-size...

Not sure what he meant, but if you "quote" him you get to see what he did:

It isn't an upload, it's more of an external reference. Like URL, but IMG renders the image where URL links to the image.

AHa! I didn't know we could embed link to external files like that...Donn wrote:Not sure what he meant, but if you "quote" him you get to see what he did:

That technique has been available since (I think) TubeNet went to the "new" format in 2004 ('zooks, now I feel like a geezer ... oh, wait a minute, I am!David Richoux wrote:AHa! Donn: what I meant was that I'd "quoted" the OP and had seen the URL tag where the IMG tag would work better -- sorry I wasn't clear on that.

Re: A mysterious tuba cartoon
I was getting a message about exceeding limits of uploads when I tried to do it as an attachment. Do we have some sort of personal limit for uploads?

I have almost 200 - but there is no stated maximum or total file space that I can find. Maybe I should delete a few...

This is not a problem related to any single TN-member. The server storage reserved for attachments has been filled. Either it shall be cleared (resulting in loss of information) or it shall be expanded. The decision is with the management.David Richoux wrote:I have almost 200 - but there is no stated maximum or total file space that I can find. Maybe I should delete a few...

Re: A mysterious tuba cartoon
It is called BBCDavid Richoux wrote:What did you do there? I tried a jpg and gif format, and it was not over-size...
From the FAQs:
What is BBCode?
BBCode is a special implementation of HTML, offering great formatting control on particular objects in a post. The use of BBCode is granted by the administrator, but it can also be disabled on a per post basis from the posting form. BBCode itself is similar in style to HTML, but tags are enclosed in square brackets [ and ] rather than < and >.
For more information on BBCode see the guide which can be accessed from the posting page.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Can I use HTML?
No. It is not possible to post HTML on this board and have it rendered as HTML. Most formatting which can be carried out using HTML can be applied using BBCode instead.
