No, just a stock photo, don't have any pets - the hummingbirds don't even come to my feeders lately. I have had an oscar, though. They are not like other fish. An oscar looks out at you from the tank, and follows you around, if it recognizes you as someone who sometimes has food. It will take the food from your fingers, and it will take your fingers too if it can manage it, and likely will have already eaten the other fish in the tank. It really isn't a normal aquarium fish - put into a aquarium of normal dimensions with other fish and plants, it will trash the tank and then turn out to be too big for it anyway. But like I say, for tuba players ... just bear in mind, the tank needs to be very large, I'm thinking minimum of 100 gallons for a pair.

Yea- I had one years ago-- It got "hole in the head" and died-- It was more grey than yours and only about 5 inches-- Yours is the Red isn't it?? It's beautiful !

***Gross story forthcoming***
Oscars are no joke. My brother had one when we were kids, and we used to catch small frogs, bugs and fish from the nearby creek to feed to it.
One frog my brother fed to it was too big to swallow, but Leroy (the Oscar) swallowed as much has he could, which was one entire leg. He didn't let go for over a day, by which time the leg had been digested away and all that was left was a tattered ribbon with little chunks of bone stuck in it. Nastiest thing I ever saw an animal do.
The frog lived for a while with one digested leg but eventually died of shock/disease/whatever happens to you when one of your appendages is digested.

Too bad about the hole in the head, that's a big problem with those guys. I don't know for sure what the photo is - don't think it's a standard Red, but brighter than the usual Tiger, since they breed prolifically in captivity by now there must be dozens of strains. Again, it is not mine, just a stock photo from the web.
As for the outdoor option - next door neighbor has a pond. His pets are mosquitos. Most people around these parts who try to keep fish end up with pet raccoons and herons, but that doesn't last long either.
Bloke, Didn't have much luck finding "B" or "W" at suggested kennels but did hit pay dirt at the Tazmanian Devil rescue organization. Got 2 little devils that belonged to a 95 year old couple who could no longer care for them in their one room efficiency Apt. I have been taking them to "therapy" training classes daily and they will soon be qualified to visit various nursing homes and elementary schools in the area. They were already litter box trained but still require Kevlar gloves and heavy Kevlar forearm guards when petting them. Thanks for Kennel suggestions anyway.

HI-
You can see 'Bennie' the Siamese on all my postings, but here is 'Flutternutter' the Turkish Van at his recent 'Birthday' Party....(anything for a party....)...
I recently came across this photo of me with the family pet Budgie called Jo-Jo taken many years ago. He flew free around the house and come to me when I was playing. Jo-Jo was very good talking English!
The tuba was the first I owned, an Haag 3-valve BBb bought new for only £400 GBP - I played it in the local brass band for about 12 years.
Nice --
I really like all those types of birds-- I spent 12 months in Austrailia during 2007-- Was blown away with the different typs of animals there and the birds were really my favorites-- But Neptune, you talk of Jo Jo in the past tense-- No longer with you????

Yes, am talking about 20 years ago. Jo-Jo came to an end when one day I left door open taking trash out and the budgie flew out after me. But there was very strong wind that day and he got blown away. Was found dead two days later on neighbours door step, presumably trying to get in
