CSO Brass on iTunes

Post by luke_hollis »

FYI-the Chicago Symphony Orchestra Brass released a new CD on iTunes from their Dec 2010 concerts.

Take a listen to the Passacaglia. I believe the opening line descends to the low G and ends on a pedal C. Just lovely. Although it is not listed, I went to the concert and seem to recall a second tuba player on this piece that may account for the endless line.

The second tubist was Tony Kniffen.

I know I sound like a broken record (those big black things with a small hole in the middle - remember them?), but I cannot recommend Spotify enough:

Saw this post and decided to see if the album was available. A couple seconds later I am listening! Some seriously good stuff to listen to while working on new tuba music...
