Re: Mouthpiece question
The newer Besson Eb's should be fine with an American shank, which is only slightly smaller than the European shank and are roughly interchangeable on many tubas. If it's an old Besson Eb from when they used a largish bass-trombone shank, then you'll need to convert it to a normal larger shank receiver to use a Dillon mouthpiece. I don't think they have them available in the old Besson shank. If you don't want to change the receive, you're stuck with a Wick (without the "L") or with a modular design like the Doug Elliott.jgawn wrote:About to get to get a dillon M1CB for an Eb tuba. I know your all going to say its too big but it seems to work. Do i need an American shank and a large shank? (Im am from the UK and its for a Besson Eb!) Cheers

The 2L will fit fine on a later Besson. The 2 will fit on an old Besson.scottw wrote:Uh---L stands for large? Ergo, it won't fit?sjra wrote:whats rong with a wick 2 L ?
But the 2/2L is not much like a Dillon M1C, which is what the original poster wants to use.
