In Jackson, Tennessee we had 14 this year, an even split of 7 Euphoniums and 7 Tubas. Charlie Huffman
was our director and we had a great time. Tuba Christmas is in our mall and we had as usual a lively, appreciative
audience. Last year we had about twice this many participants. The 14 of us did well though and
the concert was well recieved.

Later that evening, the Dallas Brass were the guest artists with the Jackson Symphony, a great group
indeed and a wonderful concert.

Can't say with a certainty --- didn't think to count....but there were about 10 Euphs/Baritones and 15 Tubas November 19th at the White Lake, Michigan TubaChristmas. We performed in a green-house (a big one). Lots of fun -- as everyone expected. Next, for me, is the Detroit TubaChristmas, December 18th -- in Central Methodist Church, downtown Detroit. Nice location!

Frank, congrats! Considering the first year you ran it, under less than ideal circumstances, there were what, 50 or so, and that was 5 years ago?

You're in Akron territory now! Tucker finally did scale it back a bit, but they do 2 shows in EJ Thomas Hall, and pretty much fill it both times.

Congrats on TC, and on Helzberg Hall! I want to get in there sometime for a show, next time I know in advance that I'll be there. It is beautiful, and wow..the reviews of the hall AND the orchestra are wonderful!

We had the 12th Lansdale, PA TubaChristmas on Sunday and had our usual 65 players. We are outside and the weather this year was a balmy 57 degrees and sunny. We only go inside when it's really band. The audience was over 400!

Just did Defiance, OH today, and they promised to make it an "official" sanctioned event in the future, although they have apparently been doing this for 25 years. We had about 40, but it was about 3/4 euphoniums (should that be euphonia?) and only 1/4 tubas. Since I had my Conn 40K the sound evened out though  .

I didn't get a good count but there must have been at least 20 euphoniums and an equal amount of tubas/helicons at the Evansville, Indiana event last night. One guy (Joe Hunter) even drove nearly three hours from Nashville, TN to join us.

Portland, Oregon's Tuba Christmas had about 220 tubas and ephoniums participating. This was the first year without founding conductor Dr John Richard, who passed away after walking the earth 93 years. Pioneer Square in downtown Portland was packed with spectators merrily singing along. Also, got to meet Tubenet's own KiltieTuba, who was there playing his Jumbo with a 28" bell... :tuba:

Here's a video of Jingle Bells - notice the birds singing along with the tubas...

@140 or so at the Galleria in St. Louis, Mo. The director stated that it was the largest turnout he had seen since he has been doing TC. Good crowd of shoppers turned out to watch also.

There were 32 or 33 at Newberry College, Newberry, SC. Not bad for a small town in rural SC.

Hmmmm.... Checking just now, I see the TC for St. Petersburg, Fla. has been cancelled for this year. That is one of the things my son was looking forward to going to grad school in St. Pete was a TubaChristmas opportunity because there wasn't any in Pensacola where he had been. And now they've gone and cancelled it this year. And there is one scheduled for Pensacola. Maybe he can do Orlando. Maybe he can get a few friends together and they can commit random acts of TubaChristmas. Although I could never get anybody to agree to that even when I offered to not play.

I particpated in my first Tuba Christmas in Savannah, GA. We had a equall mix of 6 euph's and 6 tubas.

Unfortunately there was a lot going on yesterday musically that kept a lot of players away.

However, we belted 'em out with gusto and the crowd like it! It was a great experinece and I met some nice folks and I look forward to doing it next year.

Unofficial count was 76 (tubas, no trombones) for Connecticut's TubaChristmas. Of course with the excellent hall acoustics, we sounded like 176.

(P.S. I think our guest conductor set a speed record for "Deck the Halls".)

We had 71 at Naperville, IL (Chicago suburb). 7 1st euphs, 8 2nds, about 5 1st tuba... and EVERYBODY else on 2nd. Oldest 69, youngest 10 (!). Though I've been meaning to go for at least 5 years, this was my first TC, it's about #&$^%*! time -- and I *will* be back!

It is no secret that I would like to go to the London Tuba Carols, but it is a bit far.

This year they had moved from the square in front of St. Paul to the portico of that cathedral. According to the mp3’s from 2008 and the videos from 2011 respectively that move improved hearing across the group and the spread between the euphoniums and the contrabasses (which sagged in pitch quite a bit in 2008) was much less noticeable.

One entry special to the London event is Finlandia played as a tribute to the late John Jenkins. I pilfered the link to the video from Jonathan:

Think we had about 25 in Nampa ID. Oldest? probably me (75) youngest looked to be around 10 or so...I finally set aside my Conn 5J . As I age it seems to get heavier and heavier. Played my Weril H980 a beater but with the best valves I've ever laid hands on... :tuba: Loren
