As you imply, has the Canada dollar - once again - sunken slightly below the value of the USD?

I lived in Baltimore for 27 years, and the only car break-ins I've ever known personally (friends, family, coworkers, neighbors...) were because of 1) my brother left his iPod on the front seat, and 2) I forgot to lock my wife's car door .
Sure, maybe it's small stuff they want and not bigger stuff. I'll take reasonable risks, but I put that risk in the unreasonable category. My car was broken into in April, and four of the six people around my cubicle have had their cars broken into within the last year--several with NOTHING in view or stolen. My car was in the garage the experienced Baltimoreans in the office declared safe. So much for Baltimore experience.

Repairing the broken window cost far more than the Garmin GPS the guy stole. Not to mention the drive home (75 miles) on a cold, rainy day. It's a 2009 Ford and nothing special in that garage.

My vehicle does not have a trunk, and I wouldn't keep a tuba in a trunk even if it had one, unless it was in a hard case.

Sometimes thieves just break in. It happens. A couple of months ago, someone broke into my cousin's pick-up truck and stole the change out of his drink holder. Unfortunately for them, some money fell out of their pocket as they were doing this. Aside from the broken window, he actually made money.

That sucks, Rick, and im real sorry to hear that. Just relaying my experiences and agree that while Bmore has its problems, I never let that decide my behavior more than absolutely necessary.

It'll always be home sweet home to me!

Although that would prevent tuba thefts, I would say that trumpet thefts are even more common.

Pink tools deter thieves. Wouldn't hurt to get a few extra gallons for the car too. :)

Could be combined with a small emitter in your keychain that kept you out of trouble.

And some maybe are bordering on paranoia, when they don’t dare leaving their helicon in their own house while on the mow:
