Bach 18 Mouthpiece Availability

Post by Dan Schultz »

I've already visited the Bach website but couldn't find the info I need. Does anyone know if a Bach 18 tuba mouthpiece is available with a small tuba shank? If so, is there a dealer on-line where an order can be placed?

If not, how about a recommendation on a MP similar to the Bach 18 that IS available with a small shank?

Dennis Wick and Perantucci have extra small shanks available to order. I believe Schilke also offers mouthpieces in extra small shanks.

It's easy to put a mouthpiece into the chuck of a lathe (using a leather strip to protect it) and "turn" it down to fit a smaller receiver. And Bach 18s are common and inexpensive on Ebay.
