What's it look like - or what does it say? It's impossibly small like all avatars

Freezing fog on my weekends means no motorcycle riding. And when I get a decent work day, when I could sneak in an afternoon ride, I end up with overtime. Booooooo.

It does allow for more tuba time, however. Yay!

Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?

A random act of kindness...

Major props to Ken Friedrich who donated $200 of his music as prizes in the trombone competitions at the Big XII trombone conference in Lubbock today. Super classy move, Ken, and it was very appreciated!

Just got done watching "Dr. Stranglove". This movie gets funnier each time I see it. Here is something I just learned: Kubrick never told Slim Pickens that the movie was a comedy, so all his stuff was being said in dead seriousness. Some how that made me laugh all the more.

Asleep at the Wheel never ceases to put a smile on my face. Thank You Roy Benson for keeping the tradition alive. I pronounce them the hippest band on Earth. Discuss amongst yourselves.

Finished shoveling the snow off the drive way and removing said snow off my pickup windshield. Now its time for some hot soup and then contemplate walking to church to practice.
This is my update and I'm sticking to it.

In responce to the snow references, with the thermometer at 74 degrees, I don't see any prospect that I will have a similar experience, today. In fact, not too likely for this winter.

RIght! Instead, they're paid to sit around the office and post on TubeNet! Actually, yesterday afternoon it seemed like about half the vehicles on the road were the metro buses, though instruments of the accursed government, and I believe the postal mail came through too. Airport closed, restaurants closed. Some high-dollar downtown businesses were putting their employees up in hotels. A school system obviously doesn't have the means to do that, and they usually can't effectively continue with partial staffing, so `essential employees only' means classes are cancelled and the students and faculty stay home pursue other kinds of learnin' instead of clogging the streets with their stranded cars.

Snow tends to make a mess around here for various reasons - topography, the snow is wet & icy, big variations from place to place so you don't know for sure what you're headed for, etc. Right now it's hopefully on the way out, but currently raining ice and driving conditions are extremely poor.

On the Fremont side of Wallingford, so a few blocks north of Lake Union. I just walked down towards the lake. Normally very busy roads now rather quiet.

One of my neighbors hosted an informal concert night before last, when the original venue decided to cancel and close due to exaggerated snow forecast. Managed to get a full house and gainful employment for the artist to the tune of $100 or so.
