Good luck on recording on what I imagine will be a solid performance. I wouldn't ask for contributions (and have never in any aspect of my life) and would imagine there are other ways to get a recording out there, even if not of the highest technical quality, if producing an album really is of such importance to the members. Some sort of royalty or financial return might also entice larger contributions.

Maybe it's just me, but I can't seem to find the list of the rep you will be recording on this CD. That might further entice people to donate if they knew what tracks were being recorded....

Hi Bob,

Check out the description on our campaign page. http://www.milnarik.com/ctq" target="_blank" target="_blank It explains how funding has worked in the past and how things have changed. Websites like kickstarter.com and indiegogo.com are just two of many sites that now offer what is called "gang funding." Recordings are just one type of project that gang funding is now being used for. Others on this BBS have used this type of thing in the form of a "commission consortium" and have been very successful in having new pieces written that might not otherwise have been. "Gang funding" is a new way of doing things and has been very successful for many. There are also rewards listed on this webpage (http://www.milnarik.com/ctq" target="_blank" target="_blank) for various levels of contributions to entice donors.

We are performing at the Army Conference on January 28th at 11:30am. We'll be doing a number of these tunes on the concert, plus some others by Kanda and Hackett.

If you are there, please come up and say hello! Would love to meet you! (Actually that goes for anyone from the board that's there!)

All my best,

Mike Milnarik

Hi and good luck with the project.

Please say hello to Adam for me - he did a few bits and pieces with Fodens back in the 90's (if memory serves) - totally nice chap.

Phil.
