another Gemeinhardt post...! :)

Post by USStuba04 »

Just wanted to drop my 2 cents about the Gemeinhardt tubas.

I finally had the privilege of meeting Richard Barth at FMEA and was able to try out these wonderful tubas!

First, I must say that Richard was a pleasure to speak with and is just a really great guy. Reminded me somewhat of my good friend Roger Lewis. Just great conversation and all the answesr you are looking for. Truly a pleasure speaking with you Richard.

The Tubas:

I wasn't to fond of the idea of the dependent 5th valve, but really, don't knock'em til you try'em. It is really great. The horn blows really nice. After playing a G50 without a 5th valve a few years ago I really considered taking the 5th off of mine. It just really changes the resonance of the horn for the better.

People are asking about the 2 3 5 combination, I say it's just not that big a deal. Having it out of the bugle is just worth it. Use 2 & 4 and just pull a little, done. You just won't be disappointed.

All the horns really played great. The low range on the Eb and F are SUPERB and the high ranges SING!! The CC sounds great top to bottom, solid SOLID LOW RANGE AND SINGING HIGH RANGE!! Just simply beautiful!

And, considering the price, there is NOT A BETTER DEAL TO BE HAD.

So that I don't get flamed, I will tell you that I am a dealer. I am not yet a sponsor, coming soon though. My words are unbiased, I do not just carry Gemeinhardt. Just simply a product I am very excited about for my students.

As a teacher I have been looking for something like this for a very long time. Especially the Bass tubas.

Prices: just got the price list in for Gemeinhardt this week.

BBb:
3/4 3 valve - $2,972
3/4 4 valve - $3,173
4/4 4 valve - $5,227

CC:
3/4 4 valve - $4,303
3/4 5 valve - $4,660
4/4 4 valve - $5,227
4/4 5 valve - $5,872

Eb: 5 valve - $4,132

F: 5 valve - $4,132

Add about $600 - 800 for silver depending on model.

The 4/4 Bb isn't available yet, I believe Richard said March or May ( May I think ).
And the CC I believe is March.

Congrats to Richard Barth and Gemeinhardt!

Hi-
I believe the CC production models will be available in 2-3 months.

The Gemeinhardt CC is NOT a carbon copy of the 995 with a dependent rotor...

Any pix and dimensions on the 3/4 CC? How does it compare to the 4/4?
