Furman University

Post by MTFULRUTUBA »

Hello All!

Furman University in Greenville, SC is looking for some Tuba & Euphonium players for the upcoming academic year.

Furman has been an accredited member of NASM since 1937 and offers several programs of undergraduate music study. We have marching band, wind band, symphony orchestra and brass quintets. In the year and a half I’ve been teaching at Furman, we’ve hosted the St. Louis Brass Quintet, US Marine Band and Byron Stripling to name a few. Our most famous graduate would have to be Keith Lockhart, former conductor of the Boston Pops.

I’m also looking for any students who may be majoring in another discipline but want to continue their low brass studies as well! Since we are graduating several students this year, there will be some financial aid available to students who apply early. We are competitive with most state schools in that regard. So whether you plan to major in Biology, English, Chemistry (and would still like to play) or Music Education, please consider Furman University!

Here are our audition dates:

December 2-3, 2011
February 10-11, 2012
March 16-17, 2012

For further information, please contact the school directly.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions! If I can't answer them I'll direct you to a person that can :D
