UBA TUBA??

Post by Dan Schultz »

I have a picture of a red pick-up truck with a license plate that says UBA TUBA. Anyone here own it? ... or know who does?

I'm almost 100% sure this truck isn't owned by a tuba player.

I did my counters in a simulated Uba Tuba pattern (using Silestone - they don't offer that pattern anymore.)

This is the real stuff - hides dirt really well!

I have never understood this - if it "hides dirt", how do you get it clean?

Do you really want to HIDE dirt in your kitchen?

Yeah, this stuff is one of the most common (and inexpensive) counter top granites. It's all over my kitchen and I just had to have a new piece of it cut. My wife loves rock as a furniture/wall/floor material (granite counter tops and kitchen table, marble dining room table on marble pedestal, tiled -- walls and floor -- bathrooms, slate floor on family room, cultured marble tub and walk-in shower, ...). There is now a moratorium on this since I can't add any more additional support to the floor joists and foundation. No more Uba Tuba, please.

If nothing else, this has made a refreshing change to all the spats about Asian instruments!

I was making a funny. It is really hard to clean... I would not choose it again.
