You do a lot of slide pulling on a 3+1 EEb comper?
I guess when it comes to draining most of us have to pull, slides or zippers.
Well that DEPENDS on the length of the concert!
BUTT you are right, MOST of us pull slides or zippers.

I do not believe it is uneven. I think this is the quality to expect
One might think the tolerances are tighter on the 800 and 600 as
compression is not an issue there, but those are easier valves to make than the
long compensated ones.
We are talking 4 valves here, remember. It's not one out of four failing.
I remember Vince, despite selling them, commented on the valves not being good.
Still..For the price it's not at all a bad playing instrument, it just shouldn't be compared
to a 981, wilson etc in terms of mechanical quality as it's far below that.
Claiming or insinuating it's not is in best case unawareness of it's weaknesses
It might change, but I'm afraid then so would the price ...

I wonder why some many people compare it to the 981.... Isn't thecomp EEb a copy of the YEB-632. (Therefore, a copy of a copy)
Shouldn't we just compare it to that horn....

There were 981's... and there were 981's...
Over their long and storied history, Besson unfortunately had one of the widest ranges of quality of their instruments, from "world class" to birdbath.
Now, listening to Fletch or Patrick Harrild play one makes it all better!
Lectron you have been doubly unlucky in that firstly your Eb has not worn in as well as mine and secondly as you imported directly you have little or no easy recourse. Which is why I bought mine from an importer who speaks the same language as me and trades from a country whose consumer protection laws are both strong and relatively easy for me to use if the need had arisen.
Have you tried to claim any warranties yet?
Your posts mention that the factory was willing to work with you maybe they might send you some pistons.
If it will help I can measure my pistons and casings for you to compare with yours.
