brass quartet?

Post by Bob Kolada »

Trumpet/trumpet/small tenor trombone/euphonium. How much lit is there for it? Can playing off piano charts work? :D It seems like it'd be a nice little chamber group and certainly easier to get 4 people together than 5.

You will find oodles of charts for this combo. The most commons probably being:

2 Trumpets
Horn or Trombone
Trombone

Good luck!

I've been playing occasional gigs with a quartet recently, and will be again for services over the Easter holiday.

The parts are for 2 trumpets, 2 trombones. I've just taken my PCK and played the Trombone 2 part down an octave.
I thought at the outset that the instrumentation was weird, but honestly, I like the sound of the group.

I'm sure there are other quartet instrumentations out there, but again these are all 2 trumpet, 2 trombone arrangements.
