can anyone suggest a good bass groove book (for bass) which contains grooves in all styles?

The Bass Bible, by Westwood.

It's a handy little checklist of the kinds of bass lines you might be expected to play,

It is obviously advisable to listen around each style a bit and, yes, youtube is a great place to start.
