Schiller Eb tuba opinions?

Post by tubaport »

I am sure this question has been asked before, but I was wondering if anyone has played the Schiller compensating Eb tuba. It looks like a match to the besson or Yamaha and I presume is part of the Chinese made horns.

How do they play? Obviously the quality of the horn is a concern but you can't beat the price. Are the tuba exchange horns the same? How well do they hold up? Thank you very much for your help.

Hi-
Talked about quite a bit--it is a JinBao 700 Eb tuba, clone of a Besson 981-- MACK, M&M, Schiller, TE, Wessex---all THE SAME horn. BTW, they do play well--go to advanced search on this site and you will find this instrument much discussed. Good luck.

Does anyone have any detailed intonation notes? I don't recall reading anything of that nature.
