Mercedes tuba
I am interested in some information about a BBb tuba I got off of eBay. It appears to be a stencil of a VMI or PT 3; 16 1/2 inch 4 rotors and a .750 bore through the rotors. Will post pictures later,

Re: Mercedes tuba
If it's this one http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... true&rt=nc... it appears to be a VMI stencil. At first glance I would say it's a model 101 stencil but the main slide looks more like a CC style loop.Tom Mason wrote:I am interested in some information about a BBb tuba I got off of eBay. Re: Mercedes tuba
Does the Mercedes name indicate that this tuba was marketed by Bach? The S-links might be back from that era some 30 years ago.

Re: Mercedes tuba
I had suspected the same things I am seeing from your statements. Although Bach is never mentioned on the horn stenciling, It kinda made sense that Bach may have been the original seller. I will be getting three or four dents ironed out over the summer as money comes in from gigs, and I will be cleaning the rotors and casings. Plays pretty good as is. The most needed repairs are the dents taken out of the leadpipe, and some braces reattached.
