Digital Radio

Post by Chuck(G) »

On this past week's "Le Show", Harry Shearer (he of "The Simpsons") mentioned that NPR is planning to purchase 50,000 digital radios in order to get folks interested in the broadcast format.

I thought he was joking, but it turns out not to be the case...

Does anyone have any experience with this format? Frankly, I'd be happy if the local NPR affiliate moved to that really cutting edge technology, Frequency Modulation.

Oh yeah, the Harry Shearer clip:

I must live in a more advanced part of our country. Our's has been for years. I don't spend much time listening to it, but that's another story.

Well, I shouldn't be complaining; it's not too bad if you find yourself a good chunk of galena for your detector...
