TUBA STOLEN (B+S PT3)

Post by RyanSchultz »

Friends,

After teaching yesterday, I made the mistake of leaving my B+S PT3 in my car. Someone smashed a window and took the tuba.

It was in a black Pro-tech gig bag with a silver Laskey 30B. The horn itself is unlaquered. There was a streak on the bell of the horn from an accident years ago.

Last seen in North Seattle in the last twelve or so hours.

Thanks.

Sorry to hear about that. It's a good thing you have the serial # to post.

If you haven't already, start calling local pawn shops and keep an eye out online (eBay, craigslist, etc.)

Post a serial number. Contact Dan Oberloh and other music shops in the seattle area immediately. Someone might try to sell it and a heads up will be nice. The good thing about a horn like this is that if the person selling it doesn't know anything about it, it's usually a giant red flag that it is stolen.

Also, if you haven't done so, fill out a police report. They will keep the serial number on file that way if it finds its way into a pawn shop you have a decent shot at getting it back.

As bad as this sounds, you might want to alert the local recycling businesses. These people may just try to sell it as scrap metal.

I can't imagine what I'd do if my PT10 was stolen - I feel for you.
