Are there any good brass instrument based shows in Branson, MO?

There might be some wandering Dixieland/entryway/sideshow ensembles...but I don't think there are any mainstage brass groups. If you are thinking of forming a group...let me know (currently live close to Branson...and know some local brass musicians).
I always did enjoy "bombardment!"

In a word, No. You're better off going to Kansas City and taking in a concert of the Fountain City Brass Band, which has won the USA open brass band competition for several years running now. In Branson, except for Andy Williams' show, Les Brown's big band show, and a couple of others that are more jazz/easy listening/big band oriented, everything is either pickin'-n-grinnin', retro rock-n-roll, country, or comedy based. Nothing brass or brass band oriented. Hell, 99% of the people around here don't even know what a tuba is!!! (I live in Ozark, south of Springfield on the way to Branson) There are a couple of community concert bands in Springfield and Republic, but except for Independence Day, they're done for the year, to resume with the school year in September.

From the front page of the FCBB website:eupher61 wrote:......Fountain City has finished 2nd the last two years....
"2007, 2008, 2009 & 2010 North American Brass Band Champions
2007, 2008, 2009 & 2011 U.S. Open Brass Band Champions
2009 Scottish Open Brass Band Champions"
There are occasional "reunion" or "Stars of..." shows, and the notable artists from the show perform both on their own and in other shows, but the "Lawrence Welk Show" by that name ended in 2005 with the last TV special, "Precious Memories," and the fall & Christmas seasons; I played bass on that show. http://www.oeta.tv/welk/fact-sheet.html" target="_blank" target="_blankeupher61 wrote:Is the Welk show gone from Branson?
