Tuba Exchange Sousaphone

Post by Dutchtown Sousa »

Has anybody tried one yet? I saw the $3000 price tag that includes a case and thought it is probably too good to be true but you really never know. Might be promising. It has a large bore, short action valves, and for $500 more you can get the silver plate version. Some how this just seems more legitimate to me than those Chinese or Indian horns they sell on ebay. http://www.tubaexchange.com/product-det ... PID=TE-822" target="_blank

I played a silver plated one they had on display at TMEA 2 years ago. I liked it. Felt just like holding a 20K and it was about the same weight too. Probably a good deal for the money.

The Tuba Exchange horns are the same Chinese made horns as the Schiller etc.
Are you sure? They might be chinese but not the same as a Schiller. Schiller doesn't even have a silverplated version or short action valves as far as I can tell and the tubing looks much different.
