Shostakovich Symphony No. 7
I have the tuba part and I'm looking at all the notations like tacet until 64 and I'm thinking this is not good editing. There are cues written in before the tuba part resumes; but there is no indication of how long before I need to start listening for those cues. Has anyone seen a part with all the rests written out? (No, I don't have acces to a score.)

ALSO, watch out for the key of the 3rd movement, especially when you have blast out the pedal D#'s. The little duet with the trumpet is fun and very exposed, make sure you don't get behind. AND, the last 2 minutes of the piece are the blow from hell. Haul into the line that starts on the low G and don't stop hammering until the man stops waving his hands. While not one of Shosty's best works (Bartok was so sick of hearing it he parodied the main theme in his Concerto for Orchestra) it is a blast to play. All your entrances will be easy to figure out. ENJOY!!!
