B&S PT-6P Clone @ TE

I tried it at the 2012 Musikmesse.

It played like a PT6P including the sluggish stainless valves. The intonation and response weren't as good as my PT6P, but it sounded similar. How it "felt" was something else...
I recall the adjustable thumb ring was already broken.

Every other copy runs a third or (much less) OF the original. Why should this one be half of a new original and knocking on the door of used ones?

It is because if it is what we think, is made by Wisemann of Beijing which is a small company much more expensive than JinBao. However I understand Micky Wrobleski (Beijing Symphony) is personally trying every one of these before they leave the factory so they should be consistently good.

I have considered Wessex Tubas stocking, but am unconvinced that people will be prepared to pay the price Wisemann are asking.

I was told the new guy is from Belgium. Vince kept the historic tuba collection.

Luc Kerkhof bought the business side of TE in 2010.

The most noticeable change is that TE no longer has the ridonkulous "We only service your instrument if you bought it from us" policy that Vince instituted in 2008.
