York Sousaphone

Post by Tundratubast »

I have one of these beasts. It is an incredible instrument. The projection is awesome, heavy and built like a tank, solid tone. Unique bottom casing caps have built in water keys on each valve. These are visible in the photos. Current price of $520.00 is cheap, less than twenty-four hours to go. This is not mine, nor do I even know who it is. I'm just saying, this model is a fun play old sousa.

Thanks Hal, Yep that's one. $720 ish now. Still a good buy. I'll measure my bell, but I do think its a 26" bell, mine has a gold wash bell, this one seems to bright or worn off.

The Beuscher 4 valve looks good also, I have done some business with Borodi, My contract work was less than stellar, but the ebay horns always look great.
