Re: Update Update
My wife student taught kindergarten and had a student named "Delass." When she talked to the parents, she learned they named him that because he was "De lass one!"
I like names spelled "normally." Being a teacher, it's not very fun trying to pronounce something only to find out it's just a common name with an uncommon spelling, like bort's post.

Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?

Re: Update Update
Beware, rant to follow:
Two years ago, I bought an Acer computer from a big box, West Coast, concern. One month ago said Acer computer's hard drive died. Kaput, bupkiss, morte, tod, you get the idea. After spending hours on the phone with Acer and Microsoft, simply asking Acer to back its product up (nope) and Microsoft to ask for a copy of Windows 7 (I had the product code from the Acer, and, you guessed it, nope) I said a big adult word followed by the word "it" and grabbed two older computers that had been taking up space in the garage before I spent any more money or wasted any more time. Both run XP, both are 10 and 6 years old respectively, AND BOTH RUN ABSOLUTELY PERFECT. I Googled the chip set, found out the maximum amount of RAM they could run, upgraded both for @ 125.00, stripped the DVD unit out of the Acer, googled the name, got the drivers, dropped it in the one with the most free space and VOILA!!! I now have two computers that run BETTER THAN THE ACER EVER DID AND JUST AS FAST. I loaded Finale 2012 in one (Yes, I put my big boy pants on and am learning 2012, which isn't as daunting as I first thought), it runs fast and clean, and use the other for day-to-day stuff. This is the object lesson: what's new isn't necessarily better. I will run these two machines into the ground, which I'm figuring will be until Microsoft stops supporting XP, which shouldn't be a real problem as I have both sets of disks if I need to reinstall something if it crashes, something Acer NEVER includes with their computers. Windows 7 can kiss my patootie, and as for Windows 8.
Rant over.
Chuck"the computer Luddite"Jackson
P.S.- The two laptops sitting around the house that were aquired when some just needed the new, bestest thing, both run XP, are as fast as any I have worked with, and are both over 7 years old. I didn't pay anything for them, they were just handed to me.

Re: Update Update
Our orchestra is doing Appalachian Spring in a month. Got tired of the terrible, tiny, scribbled all over parts we were given. Thanks to Sibelius the section now has large, readable, clean parts and I am a hero! I also split the tbn 2 part into high and low so both of us can get to play some.
I am fortunate to have a great job that feeds my family well, but music feeds my soul.
