Graduate Assistantships at Washington State University

Post by euphoniac84 »

Greetings, TubeNet! I wanted to announce that the School of Music at Washington State University will have multiple graduate assistantships available for tuba and euphonium next year! The four emphases for our Master of Arts degree include performance, education, composition, and jazz studies. Visit http://libarts.wsu.edu/music/graduate/" target="_blank" target="_blank for more details.

The assistantships blend the student's strengths into one package. For example, an assistantship could encompass some conducting, brass class teaching, music theory, music appreciation, computers/electronics, or even research. The bottom line is that you must act early. You will be required to have an audition, a completed graduate school application, and letters of recommendation submitted online. Please contact me via e-mail at chris.dickey@wsu.edu" target="_blank" target="_blank if you are interested!

I should note that the graduate assistant stipend is among the highest I've seen for graduate programs. There is a stipend of $12,370.50 per year in direct salary. Recipients receive a full-tuition waiver, both in-state and out-of-state. The total in financial award is $19,920-$30,768.
