"Ride of the Valkyries" is a favorite. The trio in "National Emblem March" is fun too. I remember playing "Iron Man" in marching band in high school. Now that part ROCKED!

Two years ago, my band did an "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" show, and since all of our music is arranged especially for us, I got a nearly complete solo in "You Are My Sunshine". I got to play the main melody once through straight, as a solo, which was awesome, and then the main melody in a jazz style, which absolutely ROCKED. People went crazy. Swweeeeeeet.

maybe not a blasstissssssimo part, but Holst First Suite...1st mvt. I have always enjoyed singing out....
Also Melody Shop (even though the Euphs get to have more fun) has a pretty cool (as far as marches go) bass line going on....especially at tempo...

also many Nelhybel pieces (Symphonic Movement, Trittico) have some great overall parts ....especially to WHALE on

Definately the "Ride". Every tuba player loves to belt that out big as possible but a piece I really like is "Joe's last Mix" real fun piece to play when its done right.

Our quintet has an arrangement of West Side Story, and guess who gets the solo in "I Feel Pretty." Yeah, that ones kinda entertaining to pull out.

I like marches, but not enthralled with the "speed kills" variety.
I like British 8th. The part that starts on the Eb to F, and the trio where you esentially have the melody.
French National Defile' is neat too. I am so surprised, (and glad) no one has mentioned the Vader Star Wars thing. Thanks, there is taste.

My votes are the Trio to "National Emblem" and "Them Basses." There's nothing better than hearing some clarinet or trumpet player whining about having to play their boring part while the tubas showcase their STUFF!

How about Reed's Russian Christmas Music? That cranks. Also, why on earth has no one mentioned Crown Imperial? Tuba fifths - now that's good eatin'.

National Emblem trio is cool until you play it over 500 times on a sousaphone. It then becomes a way to make a paycheck.
