I see you can buy Tajima Kobe Beef Chateaubriand (9oz) for $230 at MEGU. I think 9oz would be enough for me at that price. I was surprised when I saw that several places up North had West Nile outbreaks worse than Georgia. Nothing close to the OK, TX, LA, MS thing though.

Look at the Dakotas. That surprised me.
I am fortunate to have a great job that feeds my family well, but music feeds my soul.

I just updated my wife's iPad to iOS 6.

The new maps program sucks, and is as bad as people say it is (if not worse). I'm switching it back to iOS 5. They just couldn't leave well enough alone (nor could I!).

Betcha she's showing off her latest clothing designs- better that than having to hear her sing.....

Speaking of which, here is a very funny parody of Miley, by a girl ("Venetian Princess") who can actually sing:

I've got pretty hard water at my house, and don't want to spend $$$ on a water softener.

Our dishwasher (about five years old) hasn't been cleaning things very well lately. Today I finally got around to taking out the two spinning arms that have the spray holes. Between the two, there are around 25 spray holes. Only four of them were not completely clogged with hard water deposits.

Took me less than an hour to get everything cleared out (the time-consuming part was getting the little "rocks" out of the small opening in the center of the arm once I had dislodged them from the spray holes). Clean dishes again!

If you're not already using them... those 'all-in-one' packets are the best friend a dishwasher ever had. We bought all new appliances a little over a year ago and struggled with white-ish deposits on our dishes that were there with our old dishwasher. We discovered that the old-fashioned Cascade dishwashing powder doesn't work in these new machines. I suspect that the 'all-in-one' thingies would have made the old dishwasher perform better, too.

Yeah, I use those, plus I keep the "Jet Dry" thingy fully loaded. I have also noticed a significant difference when I switched from the powder I grew up on.

I have learned the additional lesson - at least once a year I need to take out the spinning arms and clear the spray holes.

I snatched up that Bach Mercedes that went up for sale a couple weeks ago. With moving into our new house, we needed some extra cash, so I sold the King 1240 I had and bought this one and made a little money on the deal. Now I've got another project horn! Plus I was wanting something smaller and lighter to take to work and play along with the kids.

At some point it will need a new bell, I'm going to practice more with my dent balls/magnets, and someday I might put a 4 valve cluster on it and cut it to CC and have a nice quintet horn (I think bloke suggested something along those lines a while back using the bugle from this line of horns. i.e. Olds 99, Bach, Conn 2J bugles). That would be a ways down the road.

Another thing you can do is run a couple of cups of clear vinegar through an empty cycle. Most machines drain as soon as they are started. To keep the dumb thing from draining out the vinegar.... put a couple cups in a small pan and put it open side up on one of the racks. The vinegar will remove the calcium/lime deposits from anything inside the dishwasher.
