The Santa Rosa Symphony is finally moving into our new hall this weekend. It's been a work in progress since the late '90s, and the opening festivities are going to be a huge event for the community. Here's a pretty comprehensive news story about the new hall, with a few pictures:

The Weill concert hall is a pretty close copy of Ozawa Hall at Tanglewood, and the final price tag was close to $120 million dollars. It is absolutely gorgeous, and will be a great room when all of the fine tuning is completed. The Santa Rosa Symphony is the official orchestra in residence, and the San Francisco Symphony will also be playing a few concerts in the hall every year.
This is a great success story amidst all of the strikes and bankruptcies that are all over the news. Our regional orchestra is doing very well, and will sound even better in this world class space.
