Those "Mad Men" can't think of anything new!
Verizon has a ad with a little kid giving a recital with his Sousaphone (no video link yet, but if you have been watching US TV this weekend you may have seen it.)

Re: Yet ANOTHER Sousaphone TV ad!
I seem to remember there was a Household Finance Co. ad in the 1970s that featured a grade-school boy just beginning to play a sousaphone.... the voice-over was his dad saying the kid really wanted to play the sousaphone, so he bought a sousaphone..... with help from an H.F.C. loan.
Couldn't find it on YouTuba though.

Ah - if they would have tagged it better I would have found it eventually...
Thanks.

Re: Yet ANOTHER Sousaphone TV ad!
I can not think of the product/service, but there is an ad running wherein the elementary/middle school (very young) are running into the school building for what appears to be first period. The thing that is very odd, is that there are two boys, in marching uniforms, one of which is carrying a sousaphone. Why would this exist in the real world? A child that young, would have a great deal of trouble carrying a 27 pound, all brass horn (much less run with it) and why, first thing in the morning?

The "kid plays" Axel F. Actually, whomever was hired to play this soundtrack did a good job of making the girgling sound of a beginning student. Ironic...you're good if you sound bad.pierso20 wrote:David Richoux wrote:Those "Mad Men" can't think of anything new!

At least the kid is not pressing any valves when the song starts on the open F at the bottom of the staff.
