Hi everyone,
Earlier this week I stuck a bid on Perinet ophicleide on eBay, thinking 'if I win this, it'll be a total steal.'
Then won it ... hmm, hadn't counted on that!
It's this one:

1010 euros ... Ok, it's 3 keys down but I think I can source some. Even if I throw quite a bit of money at it, I think that's not a bad price.
Seems to be the same as this one:

I must admit, I'm enthused by that performance.
I've always been fascinated by these quirky instruments that sound a bit ... well ... endearing.
Now, how to keep the wife from finding out!

He does get a nice sound in the upper range. Do you have any idea what sort of mouthpiece that is? Is a mouthpiece coming with yours?PaulTkachenko wrote: I must admit, I'm enthused by that performance.

I'm not expecting a mouthpiece with it, so I guess that's another mission.
As it''ll be a while before the thing is playable, I have time to figure it out and look for one.

this old thing….I've had it for years. If it works for dresses and shoes it should work for an ophicleide, but good luck with thatPaulTkachenko wrote: 1010 euros ... Now, how to keep the wife from finding out!
