Meinlschmidt pistons for MW big valve tubas?

Has anyone played a horn with these? They have an interesting look to them...

Dan Perantoni had a PT-18P with him at the Mendez Institute in Denver back in July that had a set of these valves in them. It really made a difference when going into the low register. I got the chance to try it out, and when I hit the C below the staff, the whole room shook as if it were a 6/4 horn. They really do work!
