Re: Top 5 Bond flicks
There is one detail of continuity that goes beyond all the leading actors and all the supporting cast. When Derek Watkins is no longer able to play trumpet, then it's all over.

1. From Russia with Love
2. Dr. No
3. Thunderball
4. Goldfinger
5. Live and Let Die
Roger Moore was respectable as Bond. Pierce Brosnan was pretty good. Daniel Craig, George Lazenby, and Timothy Dalton were mediocre.
Sean Connery was, is, and will always be, James Bond. There is no comparison.

Re: Top 5 Bond flicks
I stopped watching Bond movies after Moore left- he did OK but wasn't as good as Connery.
It was always interesting to see how far the movies' story lines strayed from Ian Fleming's books.

PLUS, it has THE best named female villian in all of Bond-dom, a name I won't repeat here for fear of offending those of that particular gender who visit this board!!OldsRecording wrote:"Do you expect me to talk? No, Mr. Bond. I expect you to die!"

Re: Top 5 Bond flicks
I'll bite.
1) Goldeneye
2) Casino Royale (Daniel Craig one)
3) Goldfinger
4) A View to a Kill (yeah, Roger Moore is pretty old in this film, but it has Christopher Walken)
5) Quantum of Solace (say what you will about it, I liked it)
This isn't as much a list of the "5 best Bond films" as it is a list of "5 Bond films I'd watch first before any of the others".

Re: Top 5 Bond flicks
Where is the love for "Tomorrow Never Dies"? Ricky Jay and Vincent Schiavelli steal the show as some EXCELLENT henchmen.
