Best web site ever !

Post by oldbandnerd »

Mcmaster-Carr - http://www.mcmaster.com/#" target="_blank
Ok ...... so I'm a gadget dork. I love stuff that works and I want to know how it works. This web site is like crack to me. I go look at it just to be looking. I have even bought a few things from here for work. I am a service tech for restaurant equipment supplier and I repair and install the dish machines. The commercial dish washing industry uses a lot of very specific parts, many of them made of stainless steel. You can't find this stuff in Lowes or Home Depot.
You can even buy fire hose nozzles here : http://www.mcmaster.com/#fire-hose-nozzles/=jnqa46" target="_blank . How cool is that ?

Yup. A McMaster-Carr catalog has been a staple item in the library of manufacturing and industrial engineers for several decades. these days, I buy all of the rubber cord that I use for rotor bumpers from them. They are very good for small hardware items like 'pop' rivets, bolts & nuts, and cutting tools, too.

Back in the 70's... engineers and buyers would kill for one of those big yellow catalogs! Having it on-line today is a big plus.

That's the very website Dan referred me to when I was putting together my homemade dent eraser to get the ball bearings. I ended up finding them cheaper from somewhere else, but boy do they have a lot of stuff to browse!

As a friend of a McMaster-Carr retiree, I'm the happy owner of one of those yellow catalogs. :D
