Injury!?

Post by Primusbot05 »

Hi guys, just wanted to see your thoughts on this subject...

Recently, I changed mouthpieces, and a few days ago, my top two teeth on the left side have started to..."vibrate" or "twinge" whenever I do any flexibility stuff or play very loud. It's not really a pain, but it is bothersome. All four of my top teeth have crowns, and two of them have had root canal therapy.

Today, I changed back to the old mouthpiece, and it seems to be significantly less bothered.

Thoughts? If it continues, I'll make a dentist appointment. My gums do not look inflamed and as far as I know, my crowns aren't loose. Maybe my new mouthpiece was just the right size to bother them? Or maybe I "bruised" my gums?

What do y'all think?

Ok, this may sound odd, BUT: are you AT ALL stuffed up? I have found in the past when my sinuses were the least bit stuffed up that it raised hell with how my teeth felt as your sinus cavities sit right on top of your upper teeth. I, too, have had extensive dental work (crowns abundant and capped front teeth with two root canals). Even though I don't play any more, whenever I get stuffed up from allergies or sinus infection, my teeth ache, as with you not painful, but bothersome. I will take a nasal decongestant and the problem is usually fixed. As a warning, drink alot of water with and kind of pseudophedrine product as it will dry you out. YMMV.

Did you by any chance change to a stainless steel mouthpiece? I love them, but certain people have reactions to them that are similar to your symptoms.
sorry, I don't do signatures.
