Hello Tuba world, I am looking for suggestions on great recordings of the New York Philharmonic that William Bell performed on as the principal tubist. Also if anyone knows if it's available for sale on any format I would appreciate that knowledge.
Thanks,

I would start with a very nice Mahler 5 with Bruno Walter conducting from 1947. Also, get the "George Szell Concducts the NY Philharmonic" set. Some great playing there.

There's also a set of Toscaninni recordings with Mr. Bell playing tuba.

As I recall, the Toscannini recordings were of live broadcasts of the NBC Symphony. I had a set of LPs, but they are long gone. I think one record was a bunch of Wagner Overtures.
