Simple, free Christmas brass quintet music?

Post by Tubajug »

Greetings,

Does anyone know of any (preferably free) simple brass quintet arrangements of traditional Christmas carols? A quick google search came up with this site, but they are all in "sharp" keys. The group from church I'm playing with has a wide variety of playing experience, so we want to keep it on the simple side of things. We played from the Canadian Brass Christmas Carol book last year, but those books were loaners, so we are in need of more music.

Thanks for your help!

If you are determined to get free quintet literature, this is the place to start: http://www.scoreexchange.com/search?q=b ... -christmas" target="_blank
Many pieces are either free or cheap, usually printed on your computer after payment. Same as ever, though, sometimes you get what you pay for, so you have to look it over before printing it.
If you only want to spend $50.--$75. and only want to do it once, get the Salvation Army's Christmas songbook: over 200 pieces, with some expanded arrangements, too. Excellent stuff. http://www.music.use-salvationarmy.org/pubs/carol.html" target="_blank Be careful which you buy, though as they use treble clef much as do British Brass bands, so buy the clef you need [They have all kinds of combinations.]
Best!
