I am working on a research assignment for my graduate level repertoire class, I am to give a 20 minute or so presentation on Tuba Solo Works by American Composers 1990- the Present. Just looking for some tips on finding lists of works, any works you think I should selectively include in my presentation (and why,) any other assistance you would be willing to offer.
Thanks and tuba-on!

Chris,
This would be a good resource to check out - most likely your library has a copy.

Re: Research Project - Tuba Solo Works by American Composers
I am doing research outside of here, thanks.KiltieTuba wrote:Hold on - you want us to give you composers/compositions and then tell you why these are good? Aren't you a tuba player? You're wanting us to do the research for you and give you an explanation of why such research is good?
It's your project, do some research at a library or ask a couple tuba profs or other music educators. It's all well and fine to ask where you could fins stuff, but don't try asking people to give you a rundown of why certain pieces are quality works or should be included - that's the research you need to do on your own.
Thank you other guys for the help!

You probably could do 20 minutes on James Grant alone.

Most deservedly so.knuxie wrote:20 minutes?
You might be better off citing works for tuba before 1960 in that time frame...
Since 1990, due to heavy demand, there has been a boon in the number of works for tuba. In a mere 20 minutes, many, many works will undoubtedly be left out.
