Based off of the research that I am conducting for my dissertation, I will be presenting a lecture recital entitled, "Preparation for a Tuba Audition with a Military Premier Band" on November 26 at 4:00. The recital will take place in the main rehearsal hall at the Mannoni Performing Arts Center on the campus of the University of Southern Mississippi. I will be briefly reviewing the differences in the various premier band's auditioning processes before talking about and performing five specific band excerpts. The excerpts that will be player are James Barnes-Third Symphony, John Philip Sousa-Stars and Stripes Forever, Ralph Vaughan Williams-Toccata Marziale, Carl Marie von Weber/Mayhem Lake-Oberon Overture, and Paul Hindemith-Symphony in B flat for Band.
It should be interesting.

That is a great question. I'm not sure what the university's requirements are but I'm sure it will be in my own personal library.
