Octopus and the Mermaid

Post by Dan Schultz »

Well over a year ago, someone posted about a tuba solo titled "The Octopus and the Mermaid" by Karl King. I see that Barnhouse has it and I'm tempted to buy it. Can anyone direct me to a recording or You Tube clip of the piece?

Nice playing on the attached video. Does anyone else feel that the piece would benefit by being played at a brisker tempo?

Nope. It's a serenade. Besides octopi don't exactly dart around!

I performed this song with my community band about a month ago and it was really fun. :)
